August was our month to show the WTF flag at area events. Starting with the Annual "Preston
Castle Wine Tasting and Tour" event, followed later in the month with the Taste of Amador held
in Sutter Creek.
This year's Preston Castle Wine Tasting and Tour event at which Wine Tree Farm and 14 other
Amador County wineries participated, was held August 5th.
This sold out event drew hundreds of guests to taste the wide variety of excellent local wines,
enjoy the sounds of local musicians and delight in the variety of treats served at the event.
Wine Tree Farm participates annually in this Fund Raiser which helps to maintain the historic
Preston Castle. The event gets better every year and is as much fun for those of us pouring
our wines as it is for those attending the festivities.
For an entertaining description of this year's event see the write-up in the Ledger Dispatch.
August 19th saw WTF at the "The Taste of Amador" at Hanford Courte in Sutter Creek. This event
focuses on locals to familiarize them with the taste of wines from local wineries and to enjoy the fare
of local food establishments. It was a sold-out event with local media celebrity Steve Muni, meeting,
greeting and pouring Wine Tree Farm wines for the myriad of attendees.
Besides great wines from local wineries there was abundant food and deserts. The proceeds for
this event go to the "Amador Interfaith Food Bank". If you missed it this year's sumptuous wines
and foods, be sure to put a reminder on your calendar for 2018, as this is a feast that you
don't want to miss.
